PokerStars Welcome Bonus Summary
Make your first deposit with the PokerStars Bonus code: STARS50 to earn a 100% up to $50 welcome bonus. PokerStars may not offer the highest welcome bonus in the online poker industry, but its quick and easy release requirements certainly make up for it.
PokerStars Ease of Bonus Clearing
The PokerStars welcome bonus is incredibly easy to clear. You'll need to earn Base FPP (frequent player points) to release the bonus. Every 10 FPP earned is worth $1 of the bonus, so for a max $50 bonus, you would need to collect only 500 FPP. There is no expiration on the welcome bonus, so no matter if you're a casual or serious online poker player, you can still earn the full bonus with ease. The bonus will be released in full once the required Base FPP have been collected.
PokerStars Comp Points
PokerStars bonus clearing points are known as Base FPP. Note that there is a difference between FPP and Base FPP. Base FPP are points earned for participating in raked ring games and paying tournament fees. Regular FPPs are those awarded in FPP tournaments. So, for example, if you enter a 100 FPP tourney and win a seat into a 1,000 FPP tourney, you could unregister for the tourney and receive 1,000 FPP. However, these FPP will not count towards bonus release. Only Base FPP will release the pending bonus.
PokerStars awards 1 Base FPP for every $1 raked in most ring games. Playing ring games at stakes of $1/$2 and below, or playing any heads-up tables, will award the first FPP once the pot reaches a $0.40 rake, then a 2nd FPP at $3 raked, and a 3rd at $5 raked. 6-max tables award the 2nd FPP once $2 is raked.
Tournaments award 5 Base FPP for every $1 paid in tournament fees. Partial points can also be awarded. For example, a $20+$2 tourney would award 10 FPP to every player, while a $5+$.50 tournament would award 2.5 FPP.
