Heroes and Zeroes of December
The list of heroes is always much harder to come up with than the list of zeroes. Some people might say this means I have an attitude problem. Well this month I’m not even bothering with the heroes. There just wasn’t anyone in the poker world who impressed me too much, and I don’t feel like ranting about other nonsensical issues.
So here you are; my list of the poker zeroes for the month of December
- Clonie Gown
- My Pokerstars Account
- The Cereus Poker Network
Let’s Start with Clonie Gowen. Clonie has filed a lawsuit against Full Tilt Poker that basically claims that she is owed a ton of money; somewhere in the range of 40 million dollars I believe. She may be entitled to it, I’m not really sure, and to be honest I don’t too care much about her business either. Let me just say that I think Full Tilt will do just fine without her.
I would also like to nominate my player account at Pokerstars to this month’s list of zeroes. This account has cashed in 3 out of the last 57 tournaments that it has been registered in. I’ll admit, I don’t really take tournaments seriously on that account. It’s an affiliate account, so it’s usually just microstakes tournaments that I’m messing around in for fun…often trying to be the first player out.
I jokingly told a few people that if I could donk off my chips in the next 70 microstakes tournaments that I play in…I could have my stats rounded off so that I will be cashing 0% according to the poker tracking websites.
Of course the goal in all of this would be to have the only poker account that is cashing 0% and still showing a profit in tournament play.
Come to think of it, I should really be putting this account in the heroes column.
The Cereus poker network impressed me with the speed at which it was able to make it onto my zeroes list. This time it’s because of yet another scandal. This one not as bad as the last ones, but still pretty typical of UB/AP. Phil Helmuth and about 30 other players who were holding the worst hand were awarded pots while playing poker on the Cereus network. The issue been dealt with and players have been compensated, but I don’t think I need to tell you that this isn’t exactly a first rate
operation that they have going.
