Donking Limit Omaha High/Low

It’s been a while since I played any limit Omaha h/l so I decided to sit down yesterday at Full Tilt Poker and play a few hands. I can’t say I played great, for the most part I made good decisions with the exception of some calls on the river.

I was sitting with one of Full Tilt’s red pros who shall remain unnamed for now (Berry Johnston). He plays well in these games, I knew enough to respect him at the table, but I just forgot about this a few times. Just for the record, he did suck out on the river each time and wind up taking most of my money. Nothing personal here, sometimes folks just get there, but it would have been nice if he had offered to give me my money back I suppose. It was definitely somewhat dirty the way he got there.

Don’t expect to see me sitting at any limit tables for a while. I’m pretty sure most of those guys playing above 8/16 have some kind of edge on me… or at the very least, it’s doubtful that I have much of an edge on them. If you ask me, these 15/30 limit h/l games are pretty much an even money bet as long as folks are using the same type of strategies. Of course, maybe I’m just flat wrong about this and that’s why I lost there yesterday.

I’ll probably head back to the regular Omaha tables on FT for a few days. If you don’t have an account at Full Tilt Poker yet, you should really check this site out. It’s one of the most popular poker sites and in my opinion it has the best poker software by far.
