Joining the Grind

So this is my first entry here and I’m looking forward to sharing my thoughts and ideas with whoever will listen to be honest. Yes, i do play plenty of poker and I’ll have some sort of outline of where I want to go but just like poker you never know. I myself play mostly 6 handed no limit hold em sit n go’s and multi table tournaments. So for those of you who play something similar this might actually be interesting. I do play some poker with actual people but for the most part I stick to online play.

Let me get right into things then. If you want to get more familiar with online play or are looking for some more in depth analysis then this blog should help both ( i hope ). I play the short handed games online because I’ve found them to be very beatable and profitable. there are many novice players out there and if you play a solid game you can beat these games. I also play plenty of the nightly guaranteed tournaments in the lower buy in range of 10-20. the multi table tournaments are obviously much harder because of the large number fields but if you manage to make deep runs in them, they are also very rewarding. I mix both sng’s and mtt’s on a nightly basis. Since cashing in a large tourney is less frequent the sng’s I play are basically my bread and butter and allow me to play in the big tourney’s. I often multi table the sng’s, which if you’re looking to make more dollar figures per hour you’ll almost certainly have to do as well.

I stick to the 10-20 range of entry fee’s for the sng’s as well. It’s comfortably within my bankroll and like I said before, they are very winnable. These 6 handed sng’s usually pay out to the top 2 finishers, 70% going to the winner and 30 % going to second. I’d say most people are used to the traditional 10 seat games and that’s fine but for me the short handed game has worked well. Cash games are quite different from these sit n go’s because these are basically small tournaments. Everyone starts with the same amount in chips and play continues with gradually increasing blinds until there is a winner and second place finisher. I’m sure most of you are familiar with these scenarios and if you’re not don’t sweat it, you soon will be if you play enough online. It doesn’t take long, believe me.

So now you have an idea of where i’m coming from and what I’ll be looking forward to blogging. If you have any ideas throw them my way and we can chat it up.
