PokerStars Micro Millions Tournament Series
Monday, March 12th, 2012 by Phil
PokerStars is going to host a brand new tournament series this month called Micro Millions. I’m sure we’ll see this tournament series again, but if you want to play in the inaugural series it’s going to take place from March 15th – March 25th 2012. If you plan on watching March Madness this year the PokerStars Micro Millions promotion is perfect because it will give you the chance to win a lot of money while watching the March Madness tournament without spending much money.
During the PokerStars Micro Millions tournament series there will be a total of 100 poker tournaments and $5M in guaranteed prize pools including a massive main event with a $1M prize pool. PokerStars is running freerolls and very inexpensive satellites right now where you’ll be able to earn tickets to the Micro Millions tournaments. If you win multiple tickets to the same event or you win a ticket to an event you don’t want to play in you can exchange the ticket for T$ that can be used to play in any tourney.
The Micro Millions tournament series at PokerStars is going to kick-off on March 15th with a $.11 NLHE tournament that has a $25K guaranteed prize pool. It isn’t very often that you can buy-in to a poker tournament for $.11 when the prize pool has $25K, so make sure you play in this tournament next week to kick-off the Micro Millions festivities. There are tons of other tourneys to play in as well during the series including the massive main event.
PokerStars is going to host the Micro Millions Main Event on March 25th and there is a buy-in of $22. You can qualify for the event by playing in online satellites at PokerStars for a lot less, but $22 isn’t that bad for most poker players. The prize pool will have at least $1M and the winner of the main event will win at least $150K. Turning $22 into $150K+ is a dream for most poker players, but that dream will become reality for one lucky poker player this month at PokerStars.
If you manage to win a Micro Millions tournament you’ll be mailed an exclusive Micro Millions hat from PokerStars. There will also be a leaderboard tracked during the tournament series and the player that finishes in 1st place on the leaderboard will win a valuable PCA prize package. If you finish in 2nd – 99th place on the leaderboard you’ll win 2012 SCOOP tickets, which means you should try and play in as many of the Micro Millions events as possible during the 11-day event.
Most tournament series attract high rollers and full-time grinders that can afford the buy-ins, but the Micro Millions series is aimed specifically towards micro limit players. I expect some of the events will have nice overlays and I’m sure the player fields are going to be massive in all of the Micro Millions tournaments. If you end up playing in 5+ Micro Millions tournaments you’ll receive a ticket to a $50K Freeroll that’s going to be hosted at PokerStars on April 1st 2012.
