WTB: Red Pro Status
I logged into Full Tilt today for the first time in what seems to have been a few weeks. I’ve mostly been playing cash games on the smaller sites lately.
I wasn’t at all surprised to see a bunch of people with their names highlighted in red who I had never heard of. This isn’t a new trend, but the extent to which it annoys me is always growing.
I’ll admit, I have fallen out of the loop a little bit since I started the Big Edge Poker website. Nowadays I spend most of my time talking with other webmasters, so when I do get the time to play cards I’m mostly just trying to figure out how to lose a little bit less at the table.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that these guys are not good players. I’m just saying that their presence on the site is not helping Full Tilt market their website at all. The whole point of having the red pro status is so that railbirds can sweat the action of all the people that they have seen on TV. It seems like just about anyone can become a red pro these days.
I just counted 123 “Full Tilt Pros” that are listed on their website. This doesn’t even include members like Gus Hansen and Phil Ivey who are members of “Team Full Tilt” (13 players). That also does not include the guys from Cardrunners (9 players), the Hendon Mob (4 players) or the friends of Full Tilt (13 players), all of whom has red pro status.
So… I’m putting the offer out there. I want to buy Red Pro status at Full Tilt and I think you’ll find that my requirements are quite generous. I will need my own custom avatar depicting me wearing a cape, as well as my own private table. The only games that will be played at my table are going to be Razz, Go Fish and Acey Deucey. In addition, I will also have to insist that all of the aces in the deck will be replaced with pictures of Erik Estrada.
