American Airlines - Pocket Aces

Betting Cap - A limit on the amount of money a player can lose in a hand, regardless of how much he has in front of him.

Big Slick -  Ace-King

Bullets- Pocket Aces

Calling Station - A player who seldomly folds.

Crabs - Pocket 3s

Cowboys - Pocket Kings

Cut-off position - One seat to the right of the button

Ducks- Pocket 2s

Fish Hooks - Pocket Jacks

Floating - When you call an opponents bet on the flop with the intent of stealing the pot later in the hand. You can read more about this play here Poker Bluffing Playbook.

Freeroll - A tournament with no buy in where players can win real money.

Freeze Out - Another name for a small sit n' go tournament.

Gut Shot - A straight draw where a player only has 4 cards that he can catch to complete his straight.

Hijack Seat -  Two seats to the right of the button.

H.O.R.S.E- A poker game that rotates through 5 different types of poker. Hold 'em, Omaha, Razz, Stud, Stud 8 or Better.

Implied Odds - This concept considers the absolute value of your hole cards, as well as the added value that can be attributed to skill and the ability to win a large pot.

In Position - This means that your opponent will be forced to act before you on each betting street.

Needle - To give a player a hard time about something minor...usually to put them on tilt or make them play bad.

Nit - Another word for a tight player.

Open-Ended - When a player can make 4 cards to a straight (5-6-7-8), so that they will have 8 possible cards that can complete their straight.

Over-call - When you call an opponent's raise after someone else has already done so.

Pocket Rockets - Pocket Aces

Rake- The % fee taken by a poker room in each hand in a cash game. In a tournament, players pay a one time fee in addition to the tournament buy in.

Rakeback- Payments that are returned to poker players depending upon how much rake they have paid at the poker room. This are usually made via affiliates.

Rock - A tight player who plays very few hands.

Sailboats - Pocket 4s

Short Handed- A table typically with less than 6 players.

Sit 'n Go -  A small tournament, usually 1 table, but sometimes with more. These tournaments start whenever they meet the required number of players, rather than at a specific time.

Slowroll - when you know you have the best hand, but you wait to show your opponent, just to give him some hope before you break the bad news that he has lost the hand.

Snowmen - Pocket 8s

Steaming- When a player starts to play bad because of their temper or misfortune.

Straddle - A third blind that is put on by the player who is usually under the gun.

String Bet - When a player makes a bet, then attempts to go back to his stack for more chips. Once he releases his chips, he cannot go back for more unless he has declared the amount of the raise, or he keeps one hand in the pot.

Suck Out - When a player with the worst hand winds up losing the hand.

Tilt - When a player starts to make bad decisions at the table and starts steaming.

Under The Gun - The player to the left of the big blind who is first to act before the flop.

Walking Sticks - Pocket 7s

Wheel - A straight from Ace to 5

Wrap - A strong draw, usually in Omaha, where an opponent has the upper and lower ends of a straight draw.
