Sit n Go Poker Sites
Sit n Go Variants
Heads Up Sit n Go Tournaments – When you play heads up, you are sitting down for a 1 on 1 match where the winner gets all the money and the loser gets nothing. Full Tilt and Pokerstars are the 2 best poker sites for heads up sit n go tournaments.
Double or Nothing – This is a tournament where half of the players get paid and the other half leaves the table with no money. Everyone that gets paid earns the same amount of money, so when you cash you are doubling your buy-in.
Matrix Touranemnts – These are tournaments that can only be found on Full Tilt Poker. This a Sit n Go tournament where you are playing against the same players on 4 different tables. You have to play all 4 tables at the same time, and money is paid out based on your performance at each table as well as overall in the Sit n Go. You can read my review of Full Tilt and start playing here; Full Tilt Poker.
Short Handed Sit n Gos – In a short handed sit n go you will usually start with 6 players at the table. The top 2 players will get paid in a short handed tournament like this.
Turbo Sit n Gos – A turbo sit n go will have shorter blind levels than a regular online sit n go. You will find poker tournaments with blind levels between 3-5 minutes in the turbo tournaments depending on which site you are playing on. These are some of the most popular 1 table tournaments at the online poker sites. some players don’t like to commit too much time to a poker tournament, so these tournaments are perfect for poker players like this.
Sit n Go Poker Tips
You are going to find all sorts of different strategies for beating Sit n Go tournaments depending upon what stakes you are playing. The big difference between playing a sit n go and a regular tournament is that you are going to have to adjust your hand strength requirements more often. When the table becomes shorthanded and there is less than 5-6 players at the table, you are going to need to use some different strategies and these are unique to sit n go tournaments and MTT final tables.
Learn the Percentages – More specifically, learn how likely it is for an opponent to your left to have a big hand. When a sit n go tournament gets shorthanded, you are often going to have to start playing your semi-strong hands much stronger and often just do some straight out bluffing.
Play Within Your Bankroll – If you don’t have any money, you can’t play poker. Even the best players will be unlucky on occasion, so make sure that you are playing within your bankroll limits. No matter what happens at the poker table, you want to be able to buy in the next day again.
Sit n Go Poker Site Info
What Makes a Good Sit n Go Poker Site?
Weak Poker Players – If you can find a Sit n Go with weak poker players you should have no problem making it into the money consistantly. Find the soft poker games and find the players who are loose and like to give away chips.
Sit n Go Variety – A good sit n go poker site will have plenty of variety. The sites that are listed on this page have sit n go tournaments of all different stake levels and for many different game types. There is also different game structures to add to the variety. One of my favorite sit n go tournaments is the Matrix Tournaments on Full Tilt Poker.
Easy Deposit and Cashout Options – This is one of the most important elements of a good poker site… before you even consider the quality of the poker games. If you can’t deposit and withdrawal easily, there is no point in playing any sit n gos on that site. All of the poker sites on this page accept credit cards and other electronic deposit methods.
