Winner Poker Review

Winner Poker is a poker room on the iPoker network. Winner.com Poker is popular in the European poker market.

Winner Poker Deposit Bonus

Winner Poker offers a 100% matching deposit bonus on a player’s first deposit of up to $200.

Winner Poker offers one of the most generous “Refer a Friend” bonuses in the industry. Players who refer a friend who opens a new account and makes a deposit receive $100. $25 is deposited into your account immediately, while the other $75 of the bonus must be cleared.

Refer three friends, and your bonus increases to $150 per friend referred. $50 becomes available immediately, and the other $100 has to be cleared.

Clearing bonuses just means accumulating player points by playing in real money cash games and tournaments. Most online poker rooms have frequent player points and bonus clearing requirements. These points are called “Winner Points” at Winner Poker, and bonuses are released in $10 increments for every 1000 points earned.

Winner Poker Rewards Program

These “Winner Points” also serve as the basis of the VIP Program by determining your VIP level. Your VIP level then determines which monthly bonus you are able to receive.

Winner Poker does not have a rewards store where you can purchase merchandise with points. They do have the Winner Shop, but at this time you can only use that for cash bonuses and tournament tickets. However, in its VIP FAQ, they do state that additional items may be available in the Winner Shop.

Winner Poker Games Available

Winner Poker has a limited game selection. The following poker games are available at Winner Poker:

  • Texas holdem
  • Omaha
  • Omaha hi lo
  • 7 card stud
  • 5 card stud

Winner Poker Progressive Jackpot Tables

Winner Poker features the most popular progressive jackpot on the iPoker network, the sit & go jackpots. In order to win one of these jackpots, you must win a certain number of sit & gos in a row. The eligible sit & gos vary in both buy in, prize pool, and number of players.

The largest of the sit & go jackpots is the Fort Knox Jackpot. You can win this prize of at least $50,000 by winning six $59 six player tournaments consecutively. A $750 consolation prize is available to those who finish in first or second place in six consecutive sit & gos.

The next biggest jackpot is the Rio Jackpot with $25,000 guaranteed. If you can win six $23.50 sit & gos in a row, the prize is all yours. The Rio Jackpot also has a consolation prize, this one at $300.

The Maui Jackpot is worth at least $15,000. In order to qualify, you must win five consecutive $6 ten player tournaments. The consolation prize for the Maui Jackpot is $200.

The Dirty Dozen Jackpot is available for the micro players with a guaranteed prize of at least $2,000. If you want to win this jackpot, you must first win four $2.40 twelve player sit & gos. You will have to make every tournament count though, because there is no consolation prize for the Dirty Dozen Jackpot. The most important thing here is to remember that it is up to you keep track of your winnings and report it to support. If you do not notify Winner Poker that you qualified for the jackpot, you will not receive anything.

Winner.com Poker Bonus 2011Another progressive jackpot is available for tournament players in the form of theDouble Challenge Tournaments. This challenge consists of two tournaments that take place in the same day with a buy in of $6. If you win both tournaments in the same day, you will win the progressive jackpot. Obviously a player winning both tournaments is very rare, so the progressive jackpot can get rather large. A smaller prize of $200 is also awarded to any player who finishes in the top three in both tournaments.

One mistake many people make at Winner Poker is confusing their Bad Beat Bonuswith the more exciting Bad Beat Jackpot. At many poker sites, the Bad Beat Jackpot is progressive and can land you tens of thousands of dollars. At Winner Poker however, all you get for taking a bad beat is $250. Not to mention that the qualifications for hands that count as a bad beat are ridiculously high, as you must lose with a hand of four kings or better.

Winner Poker Stakes and Limits

Winner Poker has stakes for all players, starting at the lowest of the micros with $0.01/$0.02 all the way up to the $300/$600 level. Plenty of action can be found at the micro and low levels, although anything over $2/$4 will be much harder find. If you are nervous about having to put your own money at risk, play money games are also available.

Winner Poker Tournaments

Winner Poker has a few types of tournaments running for its players:

  • Multi table tournaments
  • Sit & Go tournaments
  • Satellites
  • Rebuys
  • Guaranteed tournaments
  • Freerolls

Despite a small number of tournament types, Winner Poker has plenty of tournaments offered daily. The best deals can be found on the weekends when the guaranteed tournaments take place.

Winner Poker also has a few tournament promotions to keep the grind interesting. One such promotion is the MTT Showdown, which is taking place currently. Every tournament you play will result in a certain amount of points depending on your finish, the number of players, and the buy in. Your top 20 point totals will be used to determine your rank on the leaderboard. The top 500 players each month win a prize, while the top 20 over four months earn a World Series of Poker entry package worth $5,000.

Winner Poker Freerolls

If you are looking to build a bankroll with minimal investment, Winner Poker may be your choice. Freerolls run three times a day for those who have deposited. Another three freerolls run daily for those who have signed up with 90 days.

Your VIP level will also get you access to freerolls. Ace and Prime players can participate in a $50 freeroll every Wednesday and a $100 freeroll every Thursday. Every Saturday, Prime, Royal, Imperial, and Zenith players will compete for $1,000 in a freeroll. A $5,000 monthly VIP freeroll is available for Royal, Imperial, and Zenith players.

Winner Poker Double or Nothings

Winner Poker does not currently offer any Double or Nothing sit & go tournaments. These tournaments, also called DONs, reward the top half of the player pool with double their buy in while the other half walks away with nothing. It is not particularly surprising that no DONs are offered at Winner Poker, as most poker players believe that they are going extinct and many poker sites are concerned about the difficulty of prohibiting collusion.

Winner Poker Special Events

For those players looking to win an entry in a major live tournament, Winner Poker is a great option. One of the biggest tournaments you can win an entry to at Winner Poker is the Irish Open. Poker players here can win an entry valued at $4,600 for as little as $3.33. These packages include entry fee, travel arrangements, and hotel accommodations.

Players at Winner Poker also have the chance to win an entry in the Austrian Deepstack and the Deepstack Open Cannes. These prize packages, worth $1,150, take care of your entry, flight and hotel. Satellites for these packages start at $4.40.

Packages for the Deepstack Costa Brava valued at $900 are also up for grabs through Winner Poker.

The Rake at Winner Poker

The rake at Winner Poker is 5% of any pot that goes to a flop, thanks to the site’s “No Flop, No Drop” policy. It is important to make sure that you choose a poker room with relatively low rake, as this will cut directly into your winnings. As with most iPoker rooms there is no rakeback available at Winner Poker.

Casino Games at Winner Poker

We could all use a break from poker every once and a while, and the Winner Casino is great for just that. The casino at Winner features a nice variety of games, such as:

  • Roulette
  • Blackjack
  • Slots
  • Baccarat
  • Video Poker

Winner Poker Software

The software at Winner Poker is reliable and user friendly. Disconnects and other problems with the poker client are few and far between, the importance of which cannot be overstated when you have a lot of money at stake at any given time.

The lobby is slick and easy on the eyes, but that is not even the best part. Finding your choice of game is as easy as possible with the Winner Poker filters and game classifications. Winner Poker also has a unique and interesting feature: a percentage calculator when players are all in.

Another great aspect of the Winner Poker software is its flexibility. Winner Poker can be downloaded and installed on Windows, Mac, and Linus operating systems. The software appears to run smoothly on all three.

Customer Service at Winner Poker

Winner.com Poker Bonus 2011Winner Poker has several ways that you can get in contact with support. The easiest and most efficient is the live chat feature found in the poker client.
