Pre-Day 7 Notes About the Main Event

It looks like ESPN is starting to show that they are trying to step their coverage up this year. Just a few minutes ago I saw a few interviews on ESPN2 with Mike Matusow and Phil Hellmuth, also an update from Ali Nejad. I wouldn’t mind seeing Ali doing the main event commentary in the years to come. Congrats to Ali for landing a job with ESPN!

In the past years the network would have to do these updates at the risk of spoiling their own TV ratings when they finally aired the event. Even though the number of entrants in the main event has increased by a few hundred players since last year, the number of women entered into the event has decreased. However, for better or for worse, the women that are still playing seem to be looking a little bit more attractive.
